As many of you know, our son George is one of roughly 30,000 people in the United States living with Williams syndrome. WS is a completely random event, characterized by a deletion of approximately 27 genes on the 7th chromosome. People with Williams experience significant cardiovascular problems and many other health related problems, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. Also common among people with Williams, are overly friendly and endearing personalities, excellent verbal abilities, incredible memories for faces and names, and a unique passion and connection to music.

In 2009 our family began hosting the George Cup to raise awareness and funding for Williams medical research and education. This September will be our fifth George Cup, as we now hold the event every other year. This year we hope to surpass the $1,000,000 mark in cumulative net funding since inception of the George Cup.

We truly hope you can join us for a wonderful day of Golf, followed by an evening of live music, cocktails, silent and live auctions, and dinner in support of a great cause.

Warm regards,

Doug and Lucy Conrod

The Stanwich Club is one of the most difficult courses in the New York metropolitan area, on a par with U.S. Open sites Winged Foot West and Bethpage Black. A recent redesign by Tom Fazio and his senior design associate Tom Marzolf actually softened the course.

Designed originally by the father and son team of William and David Gordon, the 7,445-yard Stanwich carries one of the pair’s design hallmarks: big, bold, raised greens in the manner of William’s primary influence, Donald Ross.
