CISCO company is a USA based company which is established in san jose, California. It basically deals in manufacturing, selling and supplying networking devices, telecommunication devices, hardware devices, other high technology services and products. It is the largest networking device manufacturing company in the India.
This company was started by the two stanford computer scientists in 1984 which was publically traded in 1994. In 1997, it was among the five largest revenue sharing company.

There was no centralised management system in the CISCO. So the company was losing the control system due to legacy of different management systems.
In 1994 there was a big failure in the information system of CISCO so the complete company work culture was down.
Due to the the failure of the system CISCO realized that there would be the need of ERP system which would be no more only an IT initiative but it will be a complete departmental initiative. So in the 10 days, they wrote an ERP requisite letter to the oracle and they decided to launch the ERP system.
