PICTCL is a state government undertaking in IT and technology industry which was established in 1976. It was restructured in 2002 and it was reengineered in 2009 again. It also works for E-Governance projects for different departments and organizations of the state government.

PICTEL ( Punjab information and communication technology corporation limited ) corporation decided to take on ERP because it wanted to automate the services and internal corporate functioning.
