Cricket is Back !!
You don't normally associate the 3rd weekend in July with the return to Cricket but these are not normal times we are living in. Covid19 has delayed the season by 3 months and has led to a much shortened season where Halverstown will now compete for the Ed Sports Russell Court Trophy in Group C along with North Kildare 3, Adamstown 5 and Phoenix 5. The biggest change we'll see to the season is that all games will be in the T20 Format rather than the traditional 40 over games. Their opening opponents are Phoenix. It's been 6 years since the clubs last met. Back in August 2014 the clubs met in Division 12 when Phoenix won by 4 wickets.
Halverstown 1 Team - Ahsan Syed, Richard Greene, John Threadgold, Neville Case, Barry Ashmore, Kevin Threadgold, Gunter Bayer, Kevin Hodson, Clive Wardrop, Vishnu Yannam and
Hubert Beaumont (Capt).
This weekend also see's the return of cricket for the Halverstown Oaks who take on Carlow CC. The teams met last year in a 30 Over game that ended up in a draw after rain interrupted play in the 2nd innings.
Halverstown 1 v Phoenix 5 - Saturday July 18th
Halverstown Oaks v Carlow CC - Sunday July 19th
Both games have a 2pm start time.
